You and Bob are clearly both gore hounds. E...Bryan. You and Bob are clearly both gore hounds. Every time I post a Zombie-based comic, you both seem to own the tpb ;-) Clearly Zornow's artwork is a matter of taste. I was interested in the tiger's appearance as this issue of "'68" is just a couple of months after Shiva's first appearance in "The Walking Dead" #108 (March 2013). Bearing in mind a lot of comics are scripted etc a good few months in advance, I wonder whether either writer was influenced by the other? I was certainly delighted to see the beast escape though. It has convinced me that should the Zombie apocalypse take place, then the first thing I'll do is drive up North and collect you (as my living encyclopedia of all things Undead!!) and then hole us up in a pen full of tigers. We should be completely safe then ;-)Blaxklerichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06986635840718583767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529032232707676622.post-44726285744514904332015-03-28T08:18:32.191-07:002015-03-28T08:18:32.191-07:00I've just re-read the Jungle Jim TPB and I hav...I've just re-read the Jungle Jim TPB and I have no complaints against the artwork. I agree with Bob that Nat Jones' work was better but that's not to say that Jeff Zornow's work is bad in any way. Well, not in my opinion. I was also pleased to see that the tiger was much better at killing zombies than Shiva in TWD. I'm still annoyed at the way Shiva died!Vampifanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11318241813130102121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529032232707676622.post-11757158577130103382015-03-28T06:58:28.256-07:002015-03-28T06:58:28.256-07:00This issue rather left me cold Bob,because I found...This issue rather left me cold Bob,because I found the artwork rather poor in places. Having not seen the other "'68" titles I've nothing to compare it to Ref Nat Jones. But compared to some of the other publishers out there, I'd say Zornow's efforts with this issue weren't great. He's infinitely better at covers than interior drawings imho. Still I must like this setting as I've just bought the "'68 jungle Jim" one-shot they've published... I wonder if that's the origins chapter you mention?Blaxklerichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06986635840718583767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529032232707676622.post-89083123158520712132015-03-28T06:34:21.889-07:002015-03-28T06:34:21.889-07:00Now I've got the Jungle Jim tpb! To be honest Zornow's stuff is still very good (way better than I can draw) and only jarred in a couple of panels. I still found it a great read with plenty of gore and profanity, interesting storyline especially the Origins chapter at the start. That makes your number two in the series, number three in the tpb.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11616664689882136444noreply@blogger.com
